Western Union Payment Method for AdSense

Google Adsense offering a new payment method for some countries. Publishers who located in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland), Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, or Romania, may change the payment method to Western Union Quick Cash. Western Union is a new form of payment that lets publisher receive the AdSense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service. Normal payment schedule, payments for publishers will be available for pickup at the local Western Union agent the day after they are issued. Malaysia, Western Union services are available at most of the Local Banks. (here is the list of Local Bank branches with Western Union) and in some Pos Malaysia branches (here is the list of branches with Western Union).

AdSense payments with Western Union is totally free. With this new payment method, publishers will no longer need to wait for a check to arrive in the postal mail. This new payment method can also cut down on bank fees and long clearing times associated with depositing checks. However, I wonder why Google didn’t make this payment method for worldwide.

Unfortunately, Google doesn’t support this payment method for business account. This new payment method is currently only available to individual payee names. To pick up the payment, publisher will need to bring the government-issued Identification Card (MyKad) that will be used to validate the payee name in adsense with the Identification Card. (So, make sure the payee name is exactly the same with your Identificaton Card)

The payments must be picked up within 35 days of issuance or they will expire. If this case happened, a payment hold will be placed on AdSense account and the payment will be credited back to publisher’s account.

All payments will be made in US dollars, but they may be picked up in your local currency, depending on local Western Union agent that being used by publishers. So, to begin receiving AdSense payments by Western Union Quick Cash, publishers just follow our Malaysian friends instruction as below:.

Here is how you set your payment options, go to:
My Account > Account Settings > Payment Details [edit]

After you click [edit] you will be displayed the following screen. On this page, choose Setup Western Union Quick Cash option, as shown below.

What are the steps for getting paid with Western Union?
After you have chosen, Western Union as the option for your payment. At the end of the month, you will be given MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number). MTCN is a 10 digit number that you need to show when you are picking up your payment from CIMB Bank. You will also need to bring your IC or Passport, and of course you need to know how much money you are withdrawing. Finally, you need to know Google Address.

Again, you need to have these for picking up your payment:
1. MTCN
2. IC or Passport
3. Amount to be received
4. Sender’s Address (it’s Google here)
5. Google Address:

Where to get your MTCN?
In the beginning Google used to send it through email. But now it does not. So don’t wait for the email. Just make sure to login to your AdSense account at the end of the month. Go to My Account > Payments History page as shown below.


Then click on the payment details. Make sure you click on the correct month:




Then you will be displayed your payment details like this:



Tip: For those who have never used Western Union, when you go to bank, ask for Western Union and fill up the yellow form (to receive) and not the green one (to send).
Sender will be, First Name : Google Inc.
Last name : empty

Just fill in the Western Union form (see below image) and produce your NRIC / MyKad to the cashier and they will do the rest for you.
